By the end of this term, students will be able to:

• Explain the key events that led to the Battle of Uhud and the circumstances surrounding it

• Describe the major stages of the Battle of Uhud itself and its immediate aftermath

• Analyse the leadership, consultation, and strategic planning of the Prophet ﷺ during this critical period

• Understand the balance between preparation and reliance upon Allah in times of uncertainty

• Recognise the courage, unity, and sacrifice of the Companions

• Evaluate the spiritual and political significance of Uhud in shaping the early Muslim community

• Extract practical lessons in resilience, faith, leadership, and obedience that remain relevant today

The prescribed book for this course is Al Fusul, Chapters from the Life of the Messenger, by Ibn Kathir, rahimahullah.

This text will serve as a foundational reference for the study of the Seerah during this term.

Students must attend all classes.

One absence is permitted, but multiple unexcused absences will result in expulsion from the course.

We will be offering this class live on Zoom.
