In this essential course, we uncover the absolute foundations of the Sunnah and its place in Islam.

Through deep yet accessible lessons, students will explore how the scholars of Islam defined the Sunnah, its role as a source of legislation, and how it was meticulously preserved through the generations.

    • The precise definitions of the Sunnah according to scholars of different sciences.

    • The religious basis for following the Sunnah.

    • What the Quran and authentic Hadith say about obedience to the Prophet ﷺ

    • The ways in which the Sunnah was recorded, preserved, and transmitted with care and precision

    • Common misconceptions and doubts about the Sunnah, and how to respond to them

    • Students seeking to build a solid foundation in Islamic knowledge

    • Anyone confused about the role and authority of Hadith and Sunnah

    • Those involved in da’wah or youth work who want clear, well-grounded answers

  • Students who wish to receive a certificate of completion must successfully complete the following:

    • Final Exam - Assess your grasp of the course material through a final exam (Pass Mark: 80%).

  • None Required – This course is open to all, regardless of prior knowledge.

  • To enrol in this course, students must be over 16 years old and have a good understanding of English.

  • Students must attend all classes. One absence is permitted, but multiple unexcused absences will result in expulsion from the course.

  • This course does not have a prescribed textbook.

    However, detailed course notes will be provided to students after each class.

    These notes are part of a larger project and will, inshaAllah, form the basis of a published book in the future.
